Floyd Moehlmann

Floyd E. Moehlmann, 79 of Brenham passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born to George and Ida Koehne in the Prairie Hill Community of Washington County, Texas on April 20, 1930. On May 26, 1930 he was baptized in St. John Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill. Floyd served in the United States Army from 1952–1954, where he attained the rank of Corporal. On November 24, 1956 he was united in marriage to Rose Michalak in St. Mary’s Catholic Church by Father Charles Weisnerowski. On June 25, 2009 he was received into the Catholic faith. He retired from the City of Brenham utility office electric department after 38 years. He enjoyed his family, farming, watching the Astros, trips to the casinos and playing pitch. 
 
Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, mother-in-law and father-in-law Stephen and Rosalie Michalak and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. 
 
He is survived by his loving family, wife of 53 years Rose M. Moehlmann; sons and daughters-in-law Mark and Melissa Moehlmann, Tommy and Darla Moehlmann, Donald and Danell Moehlmann; daughter Suzanne Moehlmann; grandchildren: Dawn and Clint Doege, Lindsey Moehlmann, Sara Beth and Jeff Bohl, Daphne Moehlmann and fiancé Bradley Kohring, Hanna Moehlmann; Daniel Moehlmann, Dayne Moehlmann; great-grandchildren Riley Meyer and Peyton and Blaine Bohl; brother and sister-in-law Marvin and Florence Koehne; sisters-in-law Dorothy Lee Michalak, Florence McDaniel, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Pete and Agnes Crider and several nieces and nephews. 
 
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. with the rosary recited at 7:00 p.m., Friday, February 26, 2010 in Brenham Memorial Chapel. 
 
Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 27, 2010 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, with Rev. David Ivey, Celebrant. Interment will follow in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. 
 
Memorial offerings may be given to St. Mary’s Catholic Church. 
 
Pallbearers are Robbie Michalak, Greg Koehne, Jeff Koehne, Jason Koehne, Daniel Moehlmann, Jeff Bohl, Clint Doege and Glen Michalak. Honorary pallbearers are Pat Stelter, Webster Hart, Charles Hupe, Ben Hajovsky, Freddie Wellmann, Richard Kasprowicz, Eddie Hugo and Ed and Evelyn Strangmeyer.
